It's now April 20 and the little ones are around 10 days old. They're starting to wander around the nest and are becoming rambunctious, especially when Mom isn't looking...Ruth Lahendro, one of the hospital staff and a hawk-watcher since the first set of babies a few years back, said a small bird was buzzing the nest causing Mina to spread her wings protectively over her brood. After I took this pic Mina was still on the defensive, hunkering down and keeping a close watch on a passing gull.
