Steve Wolfe > On the return trip to the Chiricahuas in May 2009, I went back to Dave's feeders and once again saw the usual suspects, including this Black-throated Sparrow.
Steve Wolfe > It's such a beautiful bird that I couldn't help but include another photo of it...Shot again at ISO 1600 in early morning before the sunlight had yet to hit the canyon floor...
Steve Wolfe > Here's the Blue-Throated from another angle showing the coloring on its back and tail feathers...
Steve Wolfe > Ash-Throated Flycatcher---or is it a Brown-Crested? Hard to tell as they look similar, and they're both found here...On the Yucca Ridge Trail overlooking Big Morongo Canyon, July 12.
Steve Wolfe > This Blue-Throated Hummingbird was on the right side of the bridge on a perch right above the creek. It's one of the largest hummingbirds, and certainly one of the most beautiful...This shot was at ISO 1600 as the morning light had yet to reach the bottom of the canyon, and I wanted to keep the shutter-speed up to lessen the chance of blur.
